Pronouns: she/they
Jackie is a community and electoral organizer born in the Bay Area who has lived in Stockton for the majority of her lifetime. She returned to Stockton after completing her Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Psychology at UC Davis, despite the prevailing sentiment urging people to leave Stockton. She firmly believes that local organizers have an important role in improving the community they call home.
Jackie has played a key role in establishing and managing the only Harm Reduction program in San Joaquin County. She works tirelessly to provide Harm Reduction education, distribute sterile needles and syringes, and offer Naloxone to prevent overdose deaths. Jackie has advocated for Harm Reduction strategies that prioritize the health, safety, and dignity of individuals who use drugs. She firmly believes everyone deserves access to non-judgmental support and resources, regardless of their substance use history.
Her other advocacy focuses on a range of pressing issues, including racial justice, educational equity, Women's rights, the empowerment of queer BIPOC communities, support for unhoused individuals, access to mental health resources, and the undocumented community. She has experience working in local electoral elections, including city and school board elections. She has also been part of special campaigns, such as Fix SUSD, which helped shed light on the corruption and mismanagement happening in the Stockton Unified School District.
Motivated by her passion, Jackie joined Stockton Stands, recognizing the need for the voices of local youth to be heard and understood. She believes in the power of community and sees Stockton Stands as the driving force behind the transformative journey that Stockton needs. She hopes to see Stockton Stands grow and fully established within our community.
